and Hearst deepen their partnership

Hearst’s media properties include Good Housekeeping magazine. is expanding its relationship with Hearst Corp., the large magazine and newspaper publisher known in the Seattle region as the company behind, formerly the Seattle P-I newspaper.

The companies said in a news release this afternoon that they’ve “entered into an expanded, multi-faceted consumer marketing, e-commerce and content relationship.”

As part of the relationship, Amazon says it will become the largest third-party seller of subscriptions to Hearst magazines through digital channels and will also collaborate with Hearst on e-commerce.

Steve Kessel, senior vice president for Amazon Kindle, is among the executives quoted in the news release, a sign that the partnership also involves digital content.

Hearst’s properties include television stations, newspapers and major magazines including Good Housekeeping, Cosmopolitan, ELLE and O, The Oprah Magazine.
