Rouxbe Cooking School partners with Ex-Microsoftie

After losing her job at Microsoft, Kathleen Flinn went on to become a best-selling author with her book The Sharper Your Knife, The Less You Cry.

And now she’s following that effort up with a new book to be released October 3rd titled The Kitchen Counter Cooking School: How a Few Simple Lessons Transformed Nine Culinary Novices into Fearless Home Cooks.

As part of the new book, Flinn also is partnering with Seattle’s Rouxbe Cooking School to showcase online cooking techniques such as knife skills, sautéing, pan-frying, roasting and preparing vegetables.

Led by Avvo co-founder Paul Bloom, the Rouxbe Cooking School features some 65 cooking lessons and hundreds of instructional video recipes. The school costs $30 per month or $240 per year.

Lessons from the book will be available for purchase in a new a la carte format or as a series package.

“Rouxbe and I have the same mission, to teach people how to cook so they can get off the couch and into the kitchen,” Flinn said. “Through high-quality videos, recipes, interactive quizzes and online support by Rouxbe chefs, their program helps home cooks quickly improve their skills.”
